First Impression is the realized vision of owner and founder, J. Donald Watson. He started the company in 1972, building an exceptional reputation during the DC metro area's 1980s real-estate boom as an affordable provider of excellent contracting services.
As the economic downturn slowed new construction projects, Mr. Watson saw that many companies and households were looking for ways to upgrade and protect their existing properties. He studied the design and installation of architectural awnings and canopies, found excellent manufacturers, and began working with a select group of installers to deliver affordable excellence in this new market niche.
